Well another Woodhill has come and gone and as per usual the WORC members were there in the thick of it all. The weather was fantastic, no rain (hard to imagine a Woodhill with no wet weather gear required!)

Ben Thomasen putting his Polaris Turbo on pole position and Dyson Delahunty also into a respectable 19th position.

My qualifying time a very average 57th learning how not to take a hairpin corner 🙁

Race day was another beautiful day with all drivers on edge as we had all been talking about the famous 9KM straight section and what speed the top cars could achieve on that part of the track.

Unfortunately both Ben and Dyson suffered car issues early on race day putting them out of contention but a number of other club members doing well having a reasonable day. The track was a mixture of both fast 200Km + sections and slow sandy Woodhill rough terrane we are used to.

The race being cut short by a truly unfortunate incident with James Buchanan which included a serious fire. Complements to the Auckland club and ORANZ for this well-handled bad situation.

Alan Hilliam 8th overall, 5th class one
Alan Scott 16th overall, 6th class one
Dale Shannon 55th overall

Campbell Witheford 21st overall, 1st C class

All in all a great well run event, I had a ball on the high speed sections once a for all being able to see the true advantage those “wings” on the car give. Thanks to all my helpers on the day and a special thanks to Paul Smith from the VDube Shoppe with the ongoing vital assistance and boot up the arse when required.
